RESEARCH PROJECTS
Let Katy conduct customized family history research for you. You'll receive:

A detailed narrative report with sources cited, sharing all the details found about your ancestors

Copies of documents so you can see for yourself

Research log of all sources reviewed
Katy's research services are available in hourly blocks billed at $95/hour.
Most packages usually range from 15-25 hours ($1,275-$2,375), but Katy will help you figure out how much time is needed for your specific goals. Payments may be paid in full up front or split into two installments of 50% each.

Caveat: costs cover Katy's labor and expertise, not a specific outcome. No genealogist can guarantee results ahead of time. Progress can vary from family to family.
STRATEGY SESSIONS
If you prefer to research on your own but need advice, Katy offers one-on-one Zoom calls to walk you through where you're stuck. In this package you'll receive:

A written summary of our discussion by email after the call with links to any resources referenced.

LINEAGE SOCIETIES

SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS
Katy is available for public speaking at genealogy conferences, and for genealogy society, historical society, podcast, or family association nationwide.
Katy also offers 2-for-1 "all dayer" in-person genealogy event packages in partnership with fellow genealogist and PA German expert James M. Beidler.

SETTING EXPECTATIONS
Please note: Email is Katy's primary means of communication. She is unable to accept clients who do not use email.
Having things in writing is the most efficient and convenient way for her to manage client correspondence. We all benefit from a paper trail! Email-based communication also allows Katy to maintain a focused and distraction-free work environment which is critical to high-quality research.
While there certainly may be times when a phone or video call is the best option, this will be rare and by appointment only. Thank you!
HOURLY RATES
Research services are available in hourly blocks. Projects are billed at $95/hour. For starting ancestors born before 1850/deeper historical mysteries and questions, a minimum package of 20 hours ($1,900) is preferred to allow enough time for thorough work to be done.

Katy believes strongly that being up front about what’s realistic helps both the genealogist and client be satisfied with the results! Be sure to let her know everything you already know about your target ancestor and the research you've already accomplished.

PACKAGE OPTIONS
The right package will depend on your goals. Katy can assist in helping determine which is the best fit. Hours can always be added as needed!
TURNAROUND TIME
Most projects take at least 12 weeks, though larger or more complex projects may take longer. Each family is unique and requires a different research strategy. Quality work takes time!
